I took some time off yesterday from a shower redo at my house and apparently did some time traveling.... lol
I swear I stepped back into the 80s! Found a local cruise in, but it said 82 and older, figured I would go check it out regardless, what’s worse they could do? Make me close the hood?? Lol, anyway, it was ata. Small dive bar. Drove up and they flagged me in and into a parking spot, friendliest bunch of guys I had met in a while!! Cars were pulling in, and doing burnouts ( some were trying to anyways) Quite a large turnout for what it was.
Turns out I was the only fuel injected car there! Other than the green Chevy 2 which is basically a full on race car. Every else was carbed, was great to see/hear the extended cranking, the shutting off when put in gear etc, it’s amazing what things you don’t think about.
Then I walked into the bar, not a mask to be seen, people smoking right at the bar, I don’t frequent bars anymore, but pretty sure it’s not the norm! Anyway, I had a total blast!! Here’s some of the cars!!

 

I'm jealous. I managed to participate in one show before they shut everything down last spring. Local restrictions on gatherings and all. Of course if there's money to be made, like the rodeo finals, that's perfectly ok, but no car shows for charity. I hope they let us have car shows again starting this spring. I'm having withdrawal symptoms.
