Will it or won't it go out through the rear door without damage? I have read several posts where this method has been successful, but others that it has damaged the headliner board and leads me to wonder if that is why Jag Headlinings came up with a foldable version?

 

the fiberglass pad is semi flexible, it will come out, in my Series 3 it came out.

 

Same price then as now, 165gbp. I didn't buy because of the shipping cost. I had already re-covered mine myself but was not happy with the results.

 

My son and I have done two head linings in Series 3 XJ6 cars using the system of removal and replacement via the rear door as per the workshop manual.
Don't even think about a do it yourself on the front windscreen of a Series 3. They are glued in and need to be done by professionals.
My short wheelbase series 2 XJ6 needed a new headlining, and a local professional upholsterer did the job in the car!
He charged me A$300 and I am more than happy with the results.
