Default Help; 1977 Jaguar XJ6.

Hi, I've recently brought a Jag as a first car; it's in great nick and an obvious project with the need of a new motor.

Anyway; it didn't come with it's Manual so I need to do some researching on my own; any additional information would be great but I was just wondering how do you pull off the chrome piece that sits at the bottom of the window? There's some surface rust under all four and I'd love to get rid of it.

Is there anything I need to be aware of?

Pictures maybe be posted up in a few days.
Thank you in advance.

Sounds great! I hope you enjoy it! And are you talking about the front or rear windows? And you're talking about the piece on the outside that also has a weather seal on it that the window would normally rub against, correct?

I'm talking about all the windows (they've all got some kind of surface rust, I'd like to get rid of).
Yes the outside part that has a weather seal

So, if you drop the window down, and position yourself as if you were inside of the car, you should see 4 screwed holding the trim piece on. You unscrew them, and viola! It should be off. Now most of my knowledge is of Series II, and not Series III, but I'm hoping this helps a little bit!

Okay thank you, I'll need to buy a battery before I do it then. I thought because of the year 1977, it was Series II? but because it's an xj6... :S
