I have found a wire sheared off near my right control stalk (which operates the wipers) and can see nowhere for it to go. This coincides with my screen washer not working despite the pump being fine if I apply voltage directly. I suspect the two are linked. However, I can’t work out where this wire is supposed to go to. All off the connections to the rear of the control module appear to be present and correct. Also, a single green wire of a smaller gauge appears to be running to the switch at the end of the stalk. Any idea where this black wire is supposed to go and whether it is indeed my washer problem?

 

Is that an XJ6 Series 1,2, or 3 we're looking at ? What year is your car ?

he S57 Jaguar schematic is essential in the operation of these cars. Easy to read and interpret. Mine is not available, or i would check it out for you.

I am almost sure that the black wire is the source of the non operation of the pump.

Black almos always denotes ground. The switch in the stalk completes the froun d circuit and energizes the pum;. Attach the looose black toground, and I suspect the stalk will energize the pumpp

The black wire goes to terminal 2 on the wiper switch
