Default Need TPS signal wire confirmation- I think it is the orange/yellow wire

Hello All,

I need confirmation about which wire is the TPS signal wire. When I look on this schematic at the bottom right the page withFig..04.5 on page 105 of the pdf, it appears to me that the TPS signal wire is the Orange with yellow. http://www.captainjaguarscathouse.co...ec%20Guide.pdf

Anyone Please confirm.

I need this info to help know where certain wires go for my NOS controller !

For the 2001 version that I use, there is no figure 4.5, the section ends at 4.4.

There are two signals, tps1 and tps2. You can almost infer this from the fact that they are drawn as shielded wires. The purpose of the shielding is to protect the signal from spurious noise.

I split the more generalised reference information over to:

Let me please then rephrase the question:

Is the orange with yellow wire TPS 1 wire the signal wire I would likely use as the signal wire for my NOS controller?

If you look on the link to the PDF in my original post, it looks to me that this is probably the signal wire I need. If anyone could please confirm, I would appreciate it.

No, I can guarantee you that the OY wire is NOT what you want for the NOS.

Now, at the expense of seeming preachy, which I am not trying to do, I suggest you learn a little more about electrical circuits in you car before you go "tapping" anything into them.

But, having said that to alleviate my moral obligations, you need either the B or G wire to show throttle position, and I do not know which one it is you want. One of them goes from low to high and the other goes from high to low voltage as the throttle opens. I assume you want the one that tracks low to high, so put your meter on each and figure out which it is. The diagram does not show that!

EDIT!- I meant the "U" or blue wire, not the "B" wire!

That was exactly the post I was hoping for.

I will use my meter to see which goes from low to high.
