Default HIF 44's

Has anyone else fitted HIF44's to their Series 2 vehicle?

It was recommended by my local Jaguar specialists that I change from the Zenith Strombergs to a new pair of HIF44's that I was able to obtain at a fair price.
They have now fitted them and have had some difficulty getting the jetting right, in fact I still think the Strombergs performed better.
The throttle spring pressure is a lot harder and this may be part of the problem in that I feel that I am pushing the accelerator harder for the same results.
However, I would like to compare notes, especially the needle settings with anyone else who has performed this modification.
Thanks

I don't understand all the Stromberg haters. Its a super simple design with just a few gaskets. The dual linkage is easy to setup too.

For me the key to getting a Stromberg cd175 to work reliably is to replace the float and float valve. The original float valve had a screen but the replacements I've seen don't ... So adding a filter right before the carbs at the T ensure they get clean fuel.

The water choke can be a bit difficult to understand so many have chosen to convert to manual choke.
