Hello everyone. have a problem that I hope can be helped. I have tried to search with no luck so im hoping someone will read this and have an idea of what is going on. I have an 89 xj6. Having a problem with a crank no start. When I first started working on this car I went through all the basics. check fuel and spark. Have fuel so I went to spark. no spark. went through everything and found i didnt have a trigger at coil. called a yard i get some used parts from and picked up an amp for 25.00. installed it and the car started. called customer to pick up car and again, crank no start. I picked up a new amp. installed it and the car started. again the car sat, went to wash it before calling customer and again, crank no start. anyone ever had this happen to them or have any ideas of what could be taking out the amps. thanx daryld123
daryl,
You ar NEW, so welcome.
My expertise with the XJ40 is limited, BUT, there are others here with heaps of info.
I would be looking at the coil on the RH wing, and its lead to the distributor cap, as I have raed over the years that this is a grief area on this model.
You have posted on the wrong area, as you have what is known as an XJ40, SO PLEASE, can one of our freindly Mods move this to the XJ40 area so answers can be maximised to end this frustration.
