Hello -
I was wondering if you use a AC delco D1906 module, or anyother exchangable module, if there is any modification that needs to be done - rewiring etc...

Nope, no changes needed. Drops right in.
The AC Delco module is what Lucas used originally but there are umpteen aftermarket replacements for the same part. They should all fit the same though.
