Default Ignition Protection Relay Location?

OK, so one of the things I noticed on my car was that the heated rear window had no power to it. The inline fuse is fine, it's just that no power reaches the fuse at all.

So, I pulled up my wiring diagram and took a gander, and came up with this:

I had expected that it would normally attach to the main White circuit at the fuse panel, seeing as how it is about 8 inches away, but it turns out that it is actually fed from the "Ignition Protection Relay", presumably to avoid having all that current-draw run through the ignition switch.

So, that begs the question: Where is the Ignition relay?

My car has had the white lead disconnected from the fuse panel and replaced with a hot lead direct from the battery . As a result, lots of things now function even with the key off, but I don't think this would have had any effect on the heated backlight's source of power...

Any help and/or thoughts appreciated.

Tom

Hi i have a 1970 series 1 the ignition relay is on the right hand side inner guard next to the coil just behind the radiator on the engine side or by the power steering pump.
The later series 1s had the relay at the back of the engine on the fire wall just to the right hand side ' not sure what year it changed. Hope this helps
