Interesting issue has popped back up...
When I bought my 2008 XK about nine months ago I observed the LCD screen between the Speedometer and Tach (the one that displays the gas gauge and clock) would occasionally fail to light up when I would start the car. Based on this and some other minor gremlins I figured out I was having charging system issues. Two batteries later (and the placement of the car on a battery maintainer every Friday) this and the other gremlins went away...
As I do every Saturday afternoon, I took the car off the maintainer (battery was fully charged). Well, this morning (Monday) I got in the car, started it up, and for the first time in several months, that same LCD screen failed to light. I drove the car a few miles, turned the car off, and fired it back up and the screen lit up just fine.
The only thing different this morning from any other, was that the outside temperature had dropped dramatically overnight. It seems fall has arrived in South Carolina as the temp had dropped from the mid 70s to the low 40s.
P.S. The dealer has checked the charging system several times, see no problems, claims the alternator works fine, and there is virtually no parasitical draw...
I am at a loss
