Maybe a scissors style instead of a bottle? Should be easy to get at a wrecking yard...

Harbor Freight has a 1 1/2 ton scissor jack. Item #66907. $22.00. I use one of these in my garage at home with no problem as long as the jack points on the car are good and strong. 2 wheel chucks are necessary when using this jack. On uneven terrain? Who knows.

Yes, Darren, it's all part of the game!
As soon as you get another one, the original one will magically appear, thus declaring itself WINNER!

Husband plays that game with his stuff a LOT!

Or an inflatable! I always fancied one of those...flat and lightweight.

I have an inflatable that I used when I had a caravan. A fine tool when lifting ageing rusting Jaguars - spreads the load well!

Darren:

1. Too bad, that you are as far away as you could be and still be
in the USA!!! I have a smallish trolley jack that will go on Craigs list for a reasonable price.

Decades ago, I had a similar one. Both HF probably sourced. I put it in the trunk of my 69 Chrysler Cordoba. In SF on business, a rear tire decided to go flat. No cell and road service at the time. that trolley made the swap so much easier. It earned it's keep!!!

2. I used my dedicated Jaguar jack on at least two Non-Jaguar projects.
A. Lift a sagging wood shelf in to place while I screwed in additional support members.

B. Held a sink disposal unit in place while I "knocked" the securing lugs into place. Decades ago, I was stronger and could lift and hold while laying on my back with one arm and knock with the other.

3. David Boger is up the road from you, sorta. I'll be the has dozens of pristine original ones.

4. My Jaguar's kit has a small "plastic" 12v compressor. HF, probably so. A little slow, but it will inflate a tire !!!

5. Best deal. Cell phone, good road service contract and a spare that holds air!!

Cloudy out and threatens rain. After errands, applied Rain X to Jaguar's front and rear wind screens.

Got my hair "shorn", long over due. Regular barber, Ed, out.
Gals from the adjoining "beauty shop" filling in. Result, a tad longer than I prefer, but far better....

Lumped Jaguar purred!!

I actually looked at the inflatable ones, ( the kind.that hook to exhaust) i saw a few issues that i didnt like.
1. I would inevitably burn myself fiddling with exhaust.
2. I watched a few videos where the jack picked up one entire side of car, then car and jack started rolling.
3. Would the faux dual exhaust on the jag have enough oomph to inflate it, or would exhaust take the path of least resistance?

The list goes on and on, so i have decided on the scissor jack from Harbor Freight. Its the perfecr size to go back into the strap on side wall of trunk, plus i will be driving right past it on saturday mornings trip!

I'm glad you got that sorted out, Darren!
Have a good trip, and I hope the weather is good for you.

Yeah!!!

Darren:

1. Put it in the "done, sorta" column. The HF scissor probably will not have the hole for the lift lug that is on the Jaguar to fit into??
Mine has one missing. I think that might be prevalent. I rarely side lift. And, if I do, I use a trolley and locate it at the "hardened" spot where the lug once was. So far no harm, no foul. The HF scissor will likely do the same.

2. Way back when, a potato in the exhaust was a somewhat common "trick" to prank a friend or irritate a "non-friend"!!! That might work here to circumvent the Jag fake dual pipes!!

Oh, the dual pipes on my "lump" are sorta real... It has an "H"
balance. So, one of those inflatable pillow might not work here

2. Still, no good reason not to proceed on your trip and enjoy it.

Much needed rain, should I go to the Lab and be bled or procrastinate?

3. Yeah, Elinor, no yard work, huh??? My front yard is mostly done.
Looks it's best, this time of year.

Back yards, oh, me.....

4. Dusted the Jaguar off yesterday. Cleaned and "Rain X'd the wind screens. Looking good and ready, so ???

I don't work in the rain, Carl, and not on Fridays anyway unless I'm WAY behind. All my jobs are well in hand at the moment and look pretty good, and I even got the Adequate Vehicle (Sonata) hosed off last night so the rain could make it clean.

darren, you'd need to lubricate the thread on the scissor jack or it would bind. Guess how I know that. Also, the one I got has a slit on the top. I used a tapered emery stone on my drill to grind it so it would fit the jacking lug on the Jag. Have a good trip.
