why dont you try and replace the master cyllinder since it sounds like the fluid is internally bypassing, a sinking pedal as you hold it at a light is the same thing

When you bleed the brakes and open the bleeder and press on the pedal to bleed the old fasioned way... What kinda of squirt do you get? It should be strong stream if you have the bleeder open. If dribbly(is that a real word)
then back up in the system, to each connection, and disconnect. Like on the metal line side of the rubber flex hose, you may have had contaminated fluid that with age too, has caused internal swelling of the brake hoses closing off the inner path to the calipers. Also do any calipers grab? Or none at all.

Are you getting fluid to the rears when you bleed?

Was the mnaster cylnder bench bled before you put it on? If you dont you get trapped air that wont come out. Sure sounds like a bleeding issue to me now more than ever, are you pressure bleeding, or press and hold with 2 people?
