Ok, I understand the concept of installing a GM-V8 in place of a XK6 (kinda), but there is no good excuse for installing a Dodge Slant 6:
Jaguar : XJ6 XJ6 in Jaguar | eBay Motors
(I am NOT trying to sell this car, just saw it and wanted to weep.)

I wouldn't do it but the Chrysler slant 6 is legendary for reliability. Clearly the person who commissioned the conversion was so frustrated with the Jag motor he choose this route. Quite a commentary. Just like the Jag 6, the Chrysler engine was designed in the 50's and the slant aspect offer many advantages.

I tried that Ebay link. it froze this quirky machine. I had to do a restart to clear it. then, it went in to checkdisk and took while to do odd things!!
As "good" as the Mopar managed to be on only three mains, it just doesn't seem to have the grunt "torque" to pull a heavy Jaguar with any alacrity. although it's Mopar trans might be a tad better than the antiquated BW66!! Tex Smith, hot rodder par excellance created an asymmetrical roadster powered by a beefed slant six. Great looking and probably ran good enough to scare some folks!
To top that, I saw a piece on a well worn XKE drop top with a scrawny Toyota four. Even worse was a door bell button screwed on to the dash with wood screws!!! Horn or starter not known!!
