I just acquired a 1992 XJ6 Vanden Plas. There is a switch in the back of the center console box that is not identified in any of the manuals or special equipment pamphlets (like the security system) that came with the car. Does anyone have any idea what it is for?

unless you have a 1992 "V12", I think you have a XJ-40, not a XJ-6.

this section is for the 1980-1987 XJ-6 and 1988-1992 V12 with the same body as the XJ-6.

This switch is part of the factory optioned security system. It is the valet switch.

Do you have a Jaguar Security remote ?
