New member - Engine Questions overheating?
couple items to work on this weekend as stated above, first things first I plan to reconnect the lower radiator hose where i dumped all the coolant that was between there and the water pump.
Once i get that back on i do want to refill the system and burp it. I did find an old thread on the topic, but i am looking for some confirmation as to whether i have it understood based on how i was going to proceed and because my engine is just that no heater or anything else to mess with:
1. connect all my hoses
2. siphon till empty the pressurized header tank which is located on my car next to the exhaust
3. remove the blank cap on the filler tank on the manifold that is just on the opposite side of the T-stat housing
4. add coolant to the filler area on the manifold (will use a no spill cooling system funnel at this spot)
5. run the car on idle let is heat up until T-stat opens coolant flows
6. first air should move to the empty pressurized header tank followed by coolant at which point i know i have all the air out of that part
7. continue to run until all air bubble stop up at the filler tank on the manifold
8. pull my funnel close it up drive around again and hope that i don't blow a hose again
Anyone in the know let me know if i am on the right track...
