Oil filter

When replacing the oil filter do you replace the entire unit that spins off or is it just a section inside the unit ?
and how much oil is like to spill when removed, do I need an 8litre bucket or likes....?

You had a thread " oil filter on engine block" which I replied with a pic of the filter......is this the same unit your talking about?

yes, same one. only just got back around to the filter after mucking with the windows for a few weeks.
I'll look that one up again.

when removing the filter how much leakage to be expecting? just whats in the filter plus a little more or everything in the engine everywhere in 8 seconds flat sort of thing?
