#3 is sender for the oil pressure gauge.
#1 and #2 are switches. One will be for the oil pressure warning light, #2 I think. The other...I'm not sure. I think Series IIs used an oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit....to cut the circuit if the oil pressure dropped.
Can't see #4 very well.
Others with more Series II experience will chime on.
Cheers

Ok, so here we go again. this picture and my information is for my 1977 series 2 xj6c with submerged fuel pumps. USA car; emissions and all that stuff.
I believe
#1 is a switch that triggers the anti-run on solenoid
#2 is a low oil pressure switch that connects to the fuel pump relay
#3 is the oil pressure gauge sender
#2 only goes to ground when the engine is turning; with oil in it!
You guys that really know; please correct me so I will finally get it right.
thanks Geneo

Just got my new oil pressure sender today from EBay. It's #4 in the above pics. It's strictly for the oil pressure warning light. As suspected the new one shows a circuit straight to earth when no oil pressure applied. Like on my desk below. The one installed in my XJ6 shows an open all the time, so OP light never comes on. OP gauge works off another sender, and that's working fine.
