Optical electronic ignition for S2 XJ12 ?
Hi Guys,
I put an electronic ignition replacement on my old white XJ12 about 10 years ago (now sold) and I want to put the same system on the red XJ12 but I can't remember who makes it.
It does away with the vacuum advance and magnetic sensor in the distributor (uses an optical system).
Can anyone remember who makes these?
Thanks,
Wilson Logan.

Could it be the Re-Opus system?
https://www.martinrobey.com/part/24401 That's for EFI, there is another version for carbs.

Thanks for replying but I don't think that's it.
The system I had replaced the disk with ferrite rods with a slotted disk for an optical pickup.
I suspect that these systems are no longer made.

All my Opus cars had the Crane XR700.
Tried the XR3000, too many blonde moments for my liking.
Optical sensor, metal slotted disc.
Still used the vac unit, albeit with the HE unit with Advance instead of Retard as our market them.

"talking with the old Crane R&D guy, both XR700 and XR3000 are not recommended for V12, only up to V8s, but because of the internal circuits, the XR700 works great.
i tried a XR3000 and it ran terrible, changed back and all is oK ."
Hmmm... so I can run it in a V12 but I'm guessing that if the V12 is NOT a recommended implementation then there will be no optical pickup unit suitable for the V12 distributor and there will be no slotted interrupter wheel.
