Default panel light advice

has anyone tried a brighter wattage bulb in the instruments of a series 3
1984 (not led) I noticed green coloured 12v5w capless In Halfords, anyone
tried this wattage?

the instruments or the Opticell? regardless, using a higher wattage bulb will literally melt the ends of the Opticell strands.

Also each gauge has a plastic "dome" inside where each bulb socket "catches" into, which will also melt under the heat of a higher wattage bulb. Best to use LED's nowadays, which are sold individually or in sets by
