Unhappy Passenger side headlight only turning on with highbeams?

Hey all thanks for checking gout the thread first and foremost anyways lets get into the issue so for whatever reason my passenger side headlight will only turn on when the cars high beams are on, i have checked all fuses (minus hidden ones) and they all seem to be fine i replaced the bulb as i figured it was probably just because the bulbs were original but still nada for details sake im going to give a full explanation of all that s happened to my headlights since receiving the car, at first my high beams didn't work after some testing and trouble shooting i figured out it was just bad wiring so i re wired it and voila everything worked perfectly and was like this for a while, fast forward to the other day when i noticed this, my battery had just been replaced that morning as the old one was leaking, i cannot tell if the light went out after this or later in the day as later on when i had to use them it was only due to some drizzling and was still to bright out to see if both headlights were working purely off the light the car was producing, anyways i parked for about 15-20 minutes when i came back i realized i totally forgot to turn my headlights off it was then i noticed one was out, i figured it was just the old bulb but upon installing a new one the problem persisted as far as problems go its not the worst as i can drive with my high beams on just fine due to how little light they make (seriously all four halogens i dont think could out shine a single LED bulb those things suck) but still a quick fix to this would be lovely (thats hoping there is one) thank you all for your time !!

Hi, do you have a Volt meter or test light ? I'd remove the bulb and check what is getting to the plug. Depending on what was rewired, I would suspect the grounds, the plug, or the bulb. The fuses / clips in the headlight fuse box can also get corroded.
Do you have the S-57 wiring book ? It shows the system layouts allowing for MUCH easier troubleshooting.

Cheers,
Brian

Dim vs bright old tech lamps.

The older sealed beams were filled with a different inert gas than Halogen. It deteriorated, and the reflectors darkened. Less and less as the years went by, til burnt out!!!

A fresh set of halogen sealed beams does wonders. I di that and the result was striking. Much better than the clouded plastic lensed lamps on my 94 Jeep...

just turn the fuses in the fuse box next to the coolant tank.

haha! Always one of those fuses, they corrode in place and the headlights become cross-eyed!

the 5th fuse is for the auxiliary cooling fan under the front bumper.
