Pertronix D171618 Distributor and 40011 1.5 Ohm coil
Just received from Summit Racing, the Distributor and Coil. Somewhere on this forum i recall instructions on their installation (electrical) but cannot locate it. Also, a reference to plugging a hole in the inlet manifold when removing a part that is no longer needed when these new parts are installed.
Does anyone have an installation sequence - I know how to remove and install and set the timing, but not quite comfortable with the electrical end.
Best regards, Ian

Well, if the Pertronix has no vacuum can, the opening for the hose in the intake manifold is un needed.
Call Pertronix and talk to a tech. Might even get a new set of instructions va mail e or snail..

You can leave the amplifier on the front of the intake manifold, or remove it and plug the mounting holes in the intake with two 1/2" bolts (electrically it is not used with the Pertronix distributor). Replace the coil first, with all the wires on the same (+ -) terminals as original coil, then remove wires from Amplifier to coil. Then install Distributor and hook up two wires...you are now ready for static timing. See PDF
