Firstly I reckon a repost or a Moderator should move this to teh XJ40 area, as a 1991 XJ6 is known as that model.
NO HARM.
My suggestion is balljoints. No idea why, just that they do make wierd noises as they start to fail.
Shockers not so.
Swaybar drop links maybe, but they are usually more of a thud, as are the sway bar mount (D Rubbers), but then again anything is going to get a mention as the mileage gets up, along with the years.
Mnay other items in the fromt that could cause that noise, so the list may be long. A good look around up on a hoist for a real shiny item may shorten that list.
