Hello, I am resurrecting a 1981 XJ6 series 3. #2 cylinder is not firing. The injector is not clicking. Have fuel pressure and spark. Off the car the injector works and has excellent spray pattern.
I may have blown one of the power resisters but can not find description of where the power resister hides in a lhd car Where is it so I can test and repair. If its' not the power resister then in wiring to ECU #30 or ECU.
The early fuel injection systems are so fun! Thank you for any feedback. Catlover

It's on the RH wall of the engine bay, down very low, well forward.

See the power steering pump on the RH side of the engine? Now go right over to the RH wall of the engine bay. The resister will be in that neck of the woods

Cheers

Hi Katlover,

This is what you are looking for.

Connections point downwards, so splashes from underneath can get in?!

Cheers,

thank you for the directions and the images.
hope to dissect the unit and find one of the eight resisters burned out.
only need six, so should be repairable.

i am constantly amazed by the quality of information offered up by folks on this site. Thank you all again.
