Default X type 2.0d more power

Recently purchased a 2005 estate with the 2.0 diesel engine, i really like the car but after having previously owned a fiat bravo tjet with 180 bhp it feels a little sluggish, im just curious as to what can be done to these to increase power or at least feel quicker in everyday use and what other people have done to there cars

Default Ecu

You can do an ECU remap to get 25-29% more power.
I think it tricks the ECU into thinking the car is cool running so it sends more fuel to give it that extra boost.
Saying that you'll be burning more fuel so if you got 600 miles on a tank and then got 25% more power could that not cut your miles down to 450 ish a tank?
I could be wrong tho
