i have a 75 xj12 fuel injection she would run for 5 minutes idleing and then die like someone turned it off. all guages read fine oil is at 40 volts in normal at normal idle if anyone could give me some adivce that would be great

and you could be right, i.e., something could be turning it off, like the Ignition Switch itself.

I would start there, at the Ignition Switch itself. It is a know problem that these switches get old and worn, and they jump to off by themselves. Although I am not saying that IS the problem with your car, it's the place to start troubleshooting.

The following link is for a Series III XJ-6 ignition switch cleaning, (1980-1987), but essentially they are the same. Otherwise I am not familiar with any 12 cylinder XJ.
