Remove Dash XJC
#2
consider this.
As the proud owner of 2 xj coups I welcome you. You have one of the most beautiful cars that has ever graced the earth.
Its a fiddly job but straight forward. I'd suggest the following...
1. remove the steering wheel and glove box liner first.
2. unplug the gauges at the harness, there are two multi-prong white plastic connectors you can separate.
3. remove the top dash pad, 4 screws on the leading edge and it simply pulls forward.
4. you will have to remove the pencil shelf and its best to remove the center console too.
5. There are 7/16 scress on the top and 1/2 nuts at each lower corner.
6. take pictures and label the wiring when you remove the gauges.
Be prepared to replace many brittle seals and foam during the reinstallation.
