Unhappy Removing door panel in an 86 Xj6 VDP

Hey all, so recently been working on some upgrades for my jag, with so much time with quarantine i figured why not, anyways im currently looking at upgrading the speakers but before i went out and bought some i figured i may as well see if i could even get the door panel off myself, i know i should probably have someone else install it but the guy i went to today tried charging me 900 (the curse of owning a jag is that everyone thinks you got money) but thats besides the point. i had gotten it to the point where the top of the armrest is off and all clips are pulled out it seems that there is a screw behind the light in the door and a large clip just above where the speaker is, ive read you just need to work it and pull really hard but after trying for a while and i mean pulling/pushing it up to the point where the car itself was nearly off the ground it hadnt budged at all, there is seemingly no access to the screw in the light panel and was wondering if anyone here had any tips perhaps i had missed a step earlier that would make this alot easier, i have been looking online for a video but it seems there is not a video out there for this exact model, any help would be fantastic and if anyone has any pictures or video to help point out what im missing thatd be lovely too thank you all!

I don't have a VDP but I've removed both 79 and 87 XJ6 door cards. First, go buy a door clip tool. About $10, they quickly pop off the "christmas tree" plastic fasteners with out braking them. The door pocket has keyhole fasteners. You get the screws out and using the heel of your hand strike the back of the pocket forward and up and they will disengage. The years of grim and the stickiness of the vinyl try to keep them in place but they will eventually break free and come apart. After you get the fasteners loose the card lifts up off clips along the bottom of the window. Hope that helps.

Here is the tool I got, $7. I went out to the garage to get a pic of mine to post but couldn't find it. Story of my life. My Father-in-law used to say "Heck, let's hop in the car and go get another one, it'll be quicker than finding the old one."

Hey all so ive managed to get it off and figured to update this thread for anyone possibly looking for the same answer
so step by step heres how it comes off,
1. under the armrest twords the front of it there is a screw remove this
2. next the top of the armrest must be separated from the bottom to do this give the front of it a nice whack (so youd be pushing it twords the back of the car) it is held there by 2 screws which fit into little slots exactly like the ones on the backs of picture frames (circle holes with a little oval grove cut out on one end to lock it down)
3. once the armrest is in two you will see three screws attaching to the door remove them and keep them in order they are all different sizes
4. now the armrest should be able to rotate, to detach it completely look under the light that is attached to the armrest you will see a small screw remove this, now you must pull away the red plastic covering, if it has not been removed before it will seem pretty stuck (this is where i was caught up) just get a flathead or trim removal tool and work your way around its edges pulling it away from the armrest it may take some time but dont use too much pressure you dont want it to snap, once loose the covering should be able to move a bit slide it twords the back of the car as it only slides in/ out one way, now there are two screws here turn the armrest to see which one is attached to the door (its the one twirds the front of the car but still check to be sure) remove this and the armrest should come off
5. there is only one screw left it is under the little pocket in the door/ under the speaker grill
6. now all thats left is to get a trim removal tool and pop out all the little clips on the sides and under the panel
7. once the clips are removed there is a big metal clip just holding the door in with some tension, if it is the first time removing the panel it may take some force but grab the panel from the sides near the top wiggle it side to side while pulling up and it should come out (be careful of the lock it can get in the way so just be sure to pull that part of the panel around it)\
all and all it was fairly simple and just a bit annoying due to how long its been since this panel has been removed (if ever) best advice would be to take your time and dont do anything unless your confident its right, messing up the panel is a pain and will totally ruin the aesthetic of your beautiful jag
hope this has helped someone
have a great day yall!
