Default S1 Manual Gearbox Vent - Mount location

Hi Everyone,

I’m in the midst of a 4 speed overdrive manual gearbox conversion on one of my Series 1’s. Can anyone tell me (or post an image) where the gearbox vent is supposed to be attached? It’s the only thing I’m not entirely sure about and I can’t find any pictures on-line. The parts manual doesn’t differentiate between Right and Left Hand Drive cars - both have a 2 hole mount - as does mine which is from a RHD car.

BTW mine is a LHD car but I would also be interested in seeing where a RHD car’s vent is mounted as well.

Thanks!
~Mike

the red rectangle is the mount that I'd like to see installed

Never mind - figured it out. Here is a pic of the mount attached to rearmost exhaust manifold studs for the archives in case anyone else wonders about this in the future.

there it is attached to the rearmost manifold studs on an E-type

I like the little faucet to drain the coolant from the block.

Hi again - for the archives I'm uploading this image shared by someone from Jag-Lovers who has a legit, factory LHD XJ6 with manual trans. Shows the vent location just like E-type, attached the exhaust manifold studs

A real LHD XJ6 with factory manual showing the vent tube location

my '65 S type has two, one at the block like yours, and one at the radiator drain. My '84 XJ-6 has a 19mm bolt instead, so my heart is broken.
