Your down here, A BROOM HANDLE, and a CRASH HELMET for the scone.
Some S2 had coil springs on each hinge, and they go off, and get weak, boot lid sag follows quite quickly.
Others had a twin torsion bar arrangement up under the trim panel under the parcel shelf, same fault and end result.
JagDaim in Melbourne used to have rebuilt hinges on an exchange basis, but that was maaaaaany years ago. You will need to identify "coil springs" or NO coil springs first.
