Default S3 Leaking Coolant Header/Expansion tank

Are these plastic tanks prone to leaking/splitting, especially along the fused seam? I have not seen any chatter on this item, so supposed they were invincible. Mine appears to have developed a leak, at the seam against the fender/fusebox area. I've ordered one from Moss Motors.

my 1983 factory expansion tank is still a non-leaker. I bet you had to mortgage the house to pay for the Moss repro? Just kiddin'.

Not notorious for leaking. But, obviously the odd exception occurs
