Question S3 Turn Indicator dash lights not flashing

I know this must have come up before, but I still cannot sort out this issue. All the indicators flash as they should and the relay clicks away happily, but the green signal arrows on the dash do not flash. I've changed the relay. I cannot make head nor tail of the schematic and am normally fairly good at schematics. I don't see how those diodes work at all!
I suppose I could pull the instrument and check the indicator bulbs, but strange that they would both fail together. This issue came with the car 5 years ago. Initially, they would flash for the first click when a turn was selected and then stop, but the actual outside lights blink just fine.
Is this circuit sensitive to incandescent to LED bulb conversion issues, cause I may have changed them when I got the car?

I have the same identical issue with the Left indicator arrow in the tachometer. I replaced the diode, no change. It only happens when the parking lights or headlights are ON.

It doesn't happen with the Right / speedometer arrow indicator at all, only the Left.

I suspect it comes down to the Switch since everything works normally and I have also done the Blinkung Sidelights mod in my car which have not affected anything because the issue was there before I did the mod. .

Morning Jose,
Are you referring to the Hazard switch? The stalk switch must work, as it seems to send power to the actual flashers.

I suppose the question is whether the relay works with LED bulbs?

Iramphal,
I think the arrow indicators do not work with LEDs without some electronic gizmo. Have you tried reverting to the normal bulbs to confirm this?

Are you familiar with removal of the tach and speedo gauges?

just in case you're not, it is somewhat easy, the two big gauges have a round steel spring behind them. you need to push the gauge towards the engine by the frame / edges (never pushing on the glass), and then turning it counterclockwise about 1/4" inch while keeping it pushed back until you feel it engage into the release notches which allow it to be pulled out enough to change bulbs.

But first pry off the black plastic "idiot lights" escutcheon between the two gauges, normally comes off just by pulling it from the top and bottom at the same time.

once the gauge is pulled out, replacing the indicator bulb is easy.
