Series 1 "elephants trunk"
I used:
1.5 inches To 1.75 inches 90 Degree Elbow Turbo/Intercooler/Intake Piping Coupler Reducer Silicone Hose
The large end just slips over the scuttle drain. Had to trim a little of the large end to fit up close to the bulkhead/firewall and used a metal zip tie type clamp.
For the duckbill I used a short piece of 1.5 inch ABS sink drain pipe as an inside coupling.
Ford uses similar membranes at the end of the drain hose. Go to a salvage yard and to the Ford section. The membrane is usually stapled to the hose end. The salvage yard won't even charge you for it.
Thanks for your latest posting, I remembered about the fumes I was smelling. So today I added a section of PVC pipe to the 90 degree elbow I had attached to the vent hole and then put on the "duckbill" piece I had removed when I converted to EFI. The new distributor cap was larger than than the old one so I took it off "temporarily". Now it is all back together and the fumes are gone...
Just tossing this out....
One possible choice for the duckbill, if you need one, is GM part number 3148473 which is available from various suppliers

I don't know if it's the right diameter.
Might be worth more checking research?
Cheers

And, to me. The ones on my car are healthy.
I wonder if a foot valve might work? A form of a one way valve.
Or merely a chunk of copper pipe hammered almost flat at the end to insert into a piece of hose.
I have been working on more important things. With not much luck. Computer stuff stymied me..
Gonna finish my chores and go to the garage and tackle my bandsaw blade jump issue...

in the old small Saloons, the MK-2, the S type, and the 420, the drain uses a 1-3/4" inside diameter hose. The XJ-6 anticipated climate change and tsunamis, so it could be 2" inside diameter.
