My 2nd fuel pump has stopped working i think? when i try switch over tanks car just dies out of fuel, had a look and the tank that is working the fuel pump makes a tick sound every so often but the tank not working the fuel pump doesnt make no sound,

There is 1 wire going to the fuel pump and 1 wire going to ground, is the wire going to the fuel pump ment to have power going to it? i got a volt meter to check if it was a wire or the pump but i cant get any volts coming from the wires even on the fuel pump that works is showing no volts? am i doing it wrong or are these not power activated?

Could someone tell me the steps to take to see if its the fuel pump or a wire going to it thats at fault, i installed a new headunit and i might of pulled a wire off the fuel switch im not sure either that or the fuel pump is stuffed itself.

 

just swapped the wires over and the pump that works still works but the other doesnt so its not the wires fault its the pump,

Iv only jst got this car so not sure how the fuel pumps work is it completely stuffed and need a new one or are the fixable blocked or what should i do to see how to fix my pump?

 

So the fuel pump has points and i have the book telling me how to check the gap etc but i cant follow and get what its trying to tell me what to do . . .

Is there any videos out there on how to check fuel pump points for a series 2? if not would someone with a series 2 that knows how to do fuel pump points want to send me some pictures or a video on how to do the fuel pump points? im stuck looking at this book can't quite see what they want me to do
