Series II wheels on a Series III?
I used to have a 1976 XJ6 but I sold it because there was too much wrong with it. Now I have bought a 1985 XJ6 because I missed my old one. I'm not a fan of the Series III look. I miss the classic looks of the Series II. Is it possible to put older wheels on the '85? If so where can I get a set of series II wheels?
Thanks so much!

I also have a set for sale. They are driver quality, not show quality. Got the center caps from David. I used the wheels for a short time as an alternate set while I got the original ones power coated. Now I have no need for them. Problem is...they are in Michigan.
Yeah they have tires. One is worn due to a bad ball joint. I am asking $95 for the set of 4. Yeah I don't really want to ship them either because I wouldn't even know how to box them up. Here is a pic....

Shipping wheels/tires is a nuisance :-)
Tire stores often have wheel boxes left over from custom wheel installations. Of course the tires would have to come off which means some additional expense.
You might visit "U-Ship" and find someone who'll deliver them with the tires still mounted. You can often get a very resaonable price if time isn't a critical issue. It works sorta like Ebay. You post what you want shipped and various vendors bid on the order. I've had good luck.
Cheers

As long as the customer isn't all the way across the country, rims aren't too bad to ship...
Two rims in a box, about 65 pound or so....
I'd bet as long as you aren't on the West Coast, and you and Scott can't work up a deal, I could get a set to your door for less than $120, shipping included....

For shipping large bulky items try Greyhound. The only downside is you have to go to them to pick it up, they don't deliver to your door. I've shipped items as large as fenders with them, no problem.
