She did a custom.plate for me. The 769 is either an insult as she cant remember how old i am or a compliment making me a.year younger (birthday is 7 of 68) and the DB is my initials. But it really dresses front up nicely

Steve:
The rims are Xj40 Teardrops. I can't imagine her with any other wheels.
Tony:
About the bumpers: When I first read the complaint about them, how the Xj6 would look SOOOO much better without the USA black plastic, I took a long hard look at Nix and tried to imagine her without them.
Maybe it's different in pictures like so many other things are, but both husband and I agree that she would look sort of stubby and a bit unfinished without the black extensions. It might be different if she was a light color, then I might agree the black parts need to go. But as it happens, I like them.
And besides that, Doug says it's a good thing I like them because I can't change them anyway.

It matters not, so long as we like what we have. Sorry if I stirred the pot!
Cheers,

Thank you, Jim, no, they don't just bolt on. I mean, the bolt pattern is right, but the hub caps won't fit over the bearing cup without about 3/8 inch thick spacers.
Over in the Rolling Stock thread I covered that pretty thoroughly.

This is about half the spacer that was on the car when we took possession, and it drives Tons better now with less spacer.

IMHO they look unwieldy because we only get to see the standard UK/ROW spec. and whatever we're accustomed to seeing, we get used to. I agree they blend in better with dark paint though.

I think the bumpers make her look not only a bit longer, but lower to the ground and more stealthy. When (not if) I wear out these tires and put Michelins back on, she'll Really be low and stealthy!

And you thought there was no chance. You thought the competition was too stiff.
