Default Spark Plugs and Fuel

I just wondering what you would reccomend as good spark plugs (1983 xj6 95,000) I believe bosch is oe but will platinum make a big differeence. Also the owners manual reccomends reg unleaded yet the previous owner says all he used was premium. Any comments or thoughts

If I remember correctly, the original plugs for the XK engine as fitted to the XJ6 were Champion N12Y or a variant of that plug.

I've seen people use NGK, but I have not had good experiences with NGK spark plugs (I call them the 'No-Good-Kind'). Perhaps others on this forum may feel otherwise, but I can only speak from personal experience.

I have owned five XJ6s of various vintages and always used premium fuel. In fact on some of them there is a plate next to the filler neck that states 'Premium Fuel Only'.
