Default Stainless Steel Bumpers from Vietnam

I’m gathering parts for a new resto-mod project on my 1976 XJ12C. www.groupharrington.com offers stainless bumpers for XJS2 as a pair for $1200. Anyone actually touched these?

ask in the MK1, MK2, S TYPE forum.

Someone with a 1966 S type purchased these ss bumpers and he was very happy.

Not sure but I think Martin Robey in the UK is or was selling them too.

Question Bump!

PurplePorsche,

I don't believe these are 'bolt-on' for a Federalized (U.S.) Series II XJ. May want to find and read all applicable threads on here and Jag Lovers. I believe they're for Rest of World Series II.
Folks have made them fit several different ways, but each appeared to be a real adventure. At least in front. The problem isn't just hanging them, it's hanging them and having the bonnet able
to open.

Other folks have modified Series III XJ bumpers to fit. Still larger & less elegant than ROW Series II, but integrate better than the freakish Federal Series II. Which appear as if the bumper designer
hated the Series II, hated Jaguar & was still pissed at being kicked off the original XJC design team & figured out how to pay those bastids back.

I have installed 2 sets. They are good and bad.

The good... They exist as an option. Stainless...so they won't rust. Welding is good.

The bad... They are low-ish quality. Lots of tool marks, some details seem hand tooled. Fitment is an adventure and requires drilling new or modifying holes in a few places for proper fitment.

With some effort and reasonable expectations they can look good. But wont won't fool any judges.
