Default Standard Transmission swap??

Im doing a sbc swap in my 86 xj6. I put a turbo350 trans. in it but I was wondering if anyone has put a standard trans. instead of auto.

Sounds like a good idea to me. You can get a LT1 with a T56 out of a gen 3 Camaro for a song. I've got one of these in the planning stages. I've already got a T56, tunnel adapter and the pedal box from a manual car. Just got to get the car. Thinking a Series 2 sedan. I've heard of others adapting a wilwood clutch master to the the pedal box.

Should work out well as the vehicle was designed for use with a manual and my in car testing (dreaming) suggests the seating and shifter position is very comfortable.

Do It! Do it now. Enjoy the process and the ride. Dont think about it too much...Life is short.

I think I'm close to giving up on 4.2 XKs, & thinking more & more about lumping the BOAT. A manual box would be my preferred cog shifting method too. So, to save me a lot of searching & trawling threads to find the pearls of wisdom I'll need to complete this project. What threads should I be studying, to make sure I know exactly what I'm in for, how much it will cost me, & what are the newbie pitfalls I'll need to avoid?
