Default Stereo wiring

on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is it to removed and replace the stereo wiring that is tunnel from the radio to the car doors?
seems to be bundled with lock/window wires rather tightly

Most difficult bit is removing the rubber tubes containing the wires between the body and doors without destroying them
Once you've done that you can run two new wires into the doors back to your stereo, leaving the old ones in there won't do any harm. (disconnect/cut them at the stereo end as well)

good point, the rubber bit between the door/car on mine actually seem very soft and easy to separate on a surface examination.
yes, maybe extracting the old wire is more work that worth while if I can just threat some new wire down the passage.

I've run new speaker wire through that rubber hose between the door and the body in a few different cars, although not in a Series II or III. I tape the new speaker wire to the end of a long zip tie (one of the 18" or 24"), and then spray the pointed end of the zip tie with silicone spray. Then snake the point of the zip tie through the rubber hose between the door and body. It's worked pretty well in the past. I leave the original wires in place.

Slick use of a zip tie!!!

I was thinking of an electricians too for running wire in tight places.
Can't recall it's name.

Are the existing ones bad? seems they should be fine as they are sheltered quite well.

Or, you have a superior two strand wire???

The real monster was getting the wire into the hole on the body of the car and down to and out of the hole inside the foot wheels. there must be another layer and another hole in there as it took ages and ages to feed the cable through, it went into a black hole and I could feed in metres of the stuff and it never showed
the old wire is patchy and frayed and bit short at the ends.
