Default Stuck door

So the right rear door on my SIII is stuck closed. The lock wont unlock. So Im trying to determine the best way of getting the door open without damaging the door panel too much. Can the door panel be taken off with the door closed? And how are the exterior door handles removed?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

I've removed *front* door trim panels on a stuck door door before without damage....so I suspect the same can be done on the rear.

On a *front* door latch ....might/might not be the same on a rear door....you can see a little nub that swings in an arc. Slide it/rotate it thru the arc of it's travel to release the lock. A screwdriver helps becuase the action is rather stiff.

Exterior door handle are bolted on from the inside. It's all very obvious once you are looking at them from the backside

Good luck
DD

Thanks Doug!

Yeah thats what I figured. I may just have to damage the top part of the interior door panel. The Haynes manual instructions are REALLY vague.
