Default Take off intake manifold as insurance ?

I'm reinstalling the cleaned and serviced injectors in my '85 VdP...I've had it in storage for at least 5 yrs and had the injectors OUT, meaning that the holes were uncovered for that long-- the engine was definitely covered in dust (which I taped them over before using compressed air to clean dust off of engine. My question is: Do I need to take off the manifold and clean it before installing the injectors, or is that overkill ? Thanks !!!!

Removing the intake is no 10 minute job. If you're confident that nothing more than dust...like the dust I have on my coffee table... might've fallen in the holes then I'd say "don't worry about it".

Cheers

Thanks, Doug. I had the hood (bonnet) on it the whole time, so I don't believe anything else got in. Sure saves me some time, thanks again. ~Dan

If it makes you feel better, apply the shop vac to the throttle opening.
