Default Is there a backdoor into a locked trunk?

Still trying to get this key issue resolved. I have no keys, they were stolen. My trunk is locked. Is there a way to release it?

thanks geneo

The only way I know is to drill a hole behind the license plate and grab the latch rod with a pointy nose pliers. It would be a good idea to have another working trunk at hand to locate the rod and figure out the best place to drill the hole.

noooo! no drilling !

remove the license plate, grab the vertical linkage rod through the bottom right hole for the license plate screw, and pull it upwards with thin needlenose pliers.
if that one doesn't work, try through the top and bottom right holes with two needlenose pliers, one helping the other raise the rod.

I, once, used a long rod through the parcel tray speaker opening.
