Default ticking in the automatic transmission

I have a Jaguar XJ6 from 1976. If I drive the car I hear a ticking in the automatic transmission. Does that sound familliar to somebody. In case I have to change the automatic transmission has somwbody an idee about the costs

When the ticking stops, RUN!!

More info will get you more answers, is the ticking engine speed related? Does it changes with road speed?
Etc

The tick only appears when the Jaguar is standing still in low rpm.
As soon as you drive the ticking is gone
