Tool kit required?

If it is, you could have difficulty sourcing one.
It's many years since I had a Series II but I think this type listed on ebay UK is the right one:
Jaguar Car Tool Kit | eBay
As far as I can recall, the tool kits became gradually less and less comprehensive following the introduction on the XJ40 and are limited to wheel changing tools in current models.

You might wanna also check the JCNA Webpage Concours section/rulebook.
Are you sure the USA market Ser II cars came with the toolkit? I know the Ser III USA cars didn't.
If they *didn't* then you don't want to have one on board as it's just another area where you might lose points.
Cheers

Doug , the picture below shows the Series 3 tool kit that came with my car but they apparently were not "standard equipment" in all XJ-6.
I was told by a Tennessee Jaguar Dealer salesman that they used them as "Thank You" gifts for buyers, and also were sold as optional accessories in the Jaguar Accessories Catalogs of the 1980's.
The XJ-12 came with a tool kit as standard equipment, and a larger kit at that.

The jack handle's lugnut socket has a number of uses around the XJ-6, as in loosening and tightening other bolts, nor just the lugnuts;
Three of those bolts that can be unbolted and tightened with the jack handle are the Oil Pan drain bolt, and each Tank's drain bolts.
Oxymorongly, a jack-raising and lugnut-removing Handle was included in the Tool Kit, which was not needed because the jack bag already had one.
