Value of Series 2 XJ6 with Chevy Conversion?
Well if anyone is interested, it's a 73 XJ6. Has been painted a light blue. Interior is dark blue. Chevy 350. Speedo bounces around...something with the transducer I'm guessing. So Speedo and I'm guessing odometer do not work. All other gauges work. Aftermarket CD player, so the radio/climate control panel is off/missing. Trans felt like it was shifting a little hard. Otherwise, body and interior looked very solid. Asking 2500. Can search Jag in Baltimore craigslist.
73 doesn't have a transducer unless that too has been added.
Bouncing speedo needle might be caused by a dry cable in serious need of cleaning and lubrication. Nix had that, pulled the center element, cleaned and lubed generously, no more problem.

Ah, what does the Speedo run off of? And it doesn't change with a Chevy swap?
Mine runs by a cable from the tail shaft of the transmission up to the back of the speedo head the old fashioned way. (It also has a 90 degree adapter at the trans.)
As mentioned, unless a transmission with transducer has been install in the car at along with the newer engine, this is how it probably works too.

If the Jaguar's original speedometer is still in place, it is cable driven. I'd guess that
the Chevrolet installation included a GM TH350 transmission. It should have a gear in the tail shaft. A cable drives from there.
As Elinor says, with authority, it is a symptom of a dry cable. Back in the day, we lubed them with a graphite laden grease. Messy as all get out, but effective.

i use a GPS speedometer in my 1985 Buick GN , converted with an LS2, and 4l80E trans.
trans no place for cable attachment, so google GPS speedometer, Dakota Digital with a close Gage face!
accurate to .01 mph, speed zone notifications, changes face color when over adjustable speed , couple other useless options!
many types nowadays internet.

Ron:
Much higher tech than a cable drive, for sure.
Dakota Digiatal has neat stuff and friendly helpful folks.
I used my old Tomtom GPS to check on the error infected unit in my car. Not as bad as the Police Radar trailers claim!!!
