Washer bottle Cap Tip
Tip to replace the Yellow Windshield Washer Bottle Cap:
I've had to replace mine three times in 28 years. The yellow plastic cap gets brittle in a few years and starts cracking.
yesterday I found a recyclable solution:
The vinyl cap from a 5-quart Castrol oil container.
a little filing of the lip on the mouth of the washer bottle and it snaps positively and securely.
It is recyclable because I get a new cap everytime I change the oil.

Doug,
the funny thing is that it looks almost exactly like the cap in the 1965 S type washer bottle, except 2/3rds smaller. The S type has a giant GLASS bottle, more like a cookie JAR !!
Carl,
what do you mean different bottle? if yours is a 1984, wouldn't it have the same bottle as mine? or did you replace it with something else?
