Weak lowbeams
I am helping a friend with his 1995 xjs 6 cylinder convertible, usa model. His problem is that his low beams are very dim while the high beams are normal. Apparently, the problem started when he was driving at night.
I don't have access to the vehicle yet so I'm doing troubleshooting by looking thru his manuals. I was originally told that the low beams didn't work at all but they do work, they are just very dim.
I originally thought the headlight control module was bad. Now, I'm not so sure. It's not a grounding problem as the high beams are bright as they should be and they share a common ground.
It's evident that something is pulling the voltage down to the lower beams. I was told to check fuses but then there is power to them.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
