Question What is this? Left over part.

Anyone know what this part pictured is on a XJ6 Series III, 1986. I think it is left over from some extensive steering and suspension rebuild work. Also removed and replaced Water pump, fan, and oil pump with the front suspension removed.
Help?
Is this a part from my XJ6 Series III? Not sure if it was left over from some recent work. What is it?

to me it looks like the Seal for the top of the Antenna, assuming it is rubber.
**If made of metal, I don't know.

Yeah, it is metal and machined. Like it is a component of a bearing or ball joint assembly.

That looks like the rear hub oil seal track. If it has been missed out of reassembling the rear hub and driveshaft, do not drive the car! The concave side shown in your photo goes against the U joint yoke, as in this photo, while the flat side goes towards the hub.

Photo here:

I agree, Looks like the rear hub oil seal spacer. Part number CCC6807, item #5 in the diagram: https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Thanks. That is it. Luckily I haven't installed the wheel hub axle shafts to the Differential yet. Phew. Relieved.

Make sure you have the bronze spacer too! If you have fitted new bearings to the hub, you need to check the endfloat is within spec (max 4 and min 2 thou). It may well be that your original spacer is fine as bearings are pretty accurately made, but it does ned to be checked.
There happens to be a current thread on the XJS forwxum discussing this is huge detail. If you cannot get how to do it from that, post again and I will do a diagram! It is simpler than the thread makes it appear!

Thanks for the reminder.
I've become very familiar with using a dial indicator and needle inch lbs 1/4 in torque wrench from rebuilding suspension, steering, and drive train components The engineering on those British owned era Jaguars is comical to today's standards. Shims, spacers, gap checks.... My tire shop will have a good time when they go to do the wheel alignments!
