what should the charge reading be at the battery...

Hello. My volt gauge is potentially acting up. It periodically sings from low charge to high charge (~11-15). To verify, could someone tell me what I should read on my multimeter when I put the leads on the + and - posts and the engine is running? How about when I rev it up some? And finally, should that charge number change if I am running accessories like the A/C, lights, etc.?

IIRC about 13.5 ish with engine running. Should stay around that even with accessories on, providing that your engine is running.

On my wires going to my volt gauge I read 13.8. BUT, the gauge reads 12ish, AFTER I smack it a few times.

My battery with accs on, ect... is 14.1-14.4.

I also have new wiring & non-standard cables & ends, etc..
