A brand like Jaguar cannot decently get rid and "delete" all its history like that.
What a shame to get rid of this glorious past, it's just like disowning own family and legacy. Jaguar had an identity: sports luxury in the British style. Well, sometimes they made mistakes (Xtype diesel with Ford or Peugeot engines for example), but in the last two decades, they launched a good product range. Very underrated IMO, but maybe the consequence of a poor reliability more than a non appealing product.
It's a slaughter. OMG, these big forest cats were already an endangered species, soon they will be extinct...
They (i don't even want to use the brands's name to describe that) want to become like these ephemere high end luxury brands that put everything on design, open shops in the most expensive districts of major capitals, and sell overpriced products. Maybe this way they intend to please the Chinese rich and young people? Cause that's exactly the way new Chinese brands with no identity try to advertise in general.
And why switching to this new identity so fast and stopping cars production suddenly, It's incredibly risky, it's always better to make slow changes and test the market before with new products, for example a side range of products with the new identity which could live along the "traditional" one?
Like that it just reminds me of something like Smart, not the biggest success in the car industry...
Well, maybe our cars will become collectors even faster now... but I'll have the feeling to enter a natural history museum from now on!
